Edgy Settings
The Settings page
allows you to customize Edgy's behavior. You can customize screen edge
dimensions, peek action
settings, Window grow, shrink, and move action settings,
wallpaper
changing settings, and window transparency.
 Screen edge dimensions
Corner size
– Use this input to specify the number of pixels (dots) away from the corner
of the screen that the mouse needs to be in order to execute the action
associated with the corner.
Side width
– Use this input to specify the number of pixels (dots) away from the side
of the screen (left, right, top, or bottom) that the mouse needs to be in
order to execute the action associated with the side.
Side length
– Use this input to specify how close to the center of the sides of the
screen the mouse needs to be in order to execute the action associated with
the side. This value is expressed as a percentage of the entire length of
the side. The larger the percentage, the larger the target area. The smaller
the percentage, the closer to center that the mouse needs to be. Peek
settings
Desktop transparency –
Specify how transparent to make windows. This value is used for peeking
through all windows at once. You can choose any percentage between 1%
and 99%. A higher number is more transparent. 99% is almost completely invisible.
Window transparency –
Specify how transparent to make a window. This value is used for peeking
through one window. You can choose any percentage between 1%
and 99%. A higher number is more transparent. 99% is almost completely invisible.
Next to the two transparency inputs are Preview buttons. Click these
buttons to see what the selected transparency looks like. The Edgy
main window will become transparent by the percentage you selected
for one second, and then it will become opaque again.
Use gradual fade –
When this check box is checked, the window that you are peeking through
becomes translucent, and changes back to opaque, with a smooth, progressive
change. When this check box is not checked, the window changes immediately.
Window grow, shrink, and move settings
Window grow –
This input determines how much the
window grow actions will
move a window on each step. You can choose any distance from 1 to
100 pixels.
Window shrink – This input
determines how much the
window shrink actions will move a window on each step. You can
choose any size from 1 to 100 pixels.
Window move – This input determines how far the
window move actions will
move a window on each step. You can choose any size from 1 to 100
pixels.
Repeat rate – This input determines how
quickly the window grow, shrink, and move actions will
repeat. The step sizes above repeat as long as you hold your mouse
in the selected position. When you move your mouse away, the window
stops growing, shrinking, or moving.
Wallpaper settings
Wallpaper
folders – This list allows you to specify which folders Edgy
should search when changing
wallpapers. The list of folders is used when changing wallpapers
via a wallpaper action or when changing wallpapers on a timer.
Wallpaper
timer – Use this option to automatically change wallpapers at
any desired time interval. Enter hours, minutes, and/or seconds.
Wallpaper
order – This option lets you control the order in which
wallpaper is changed on the timer. You can choose random or
sequential.
Window transparency
Window
transparency – This list shows all top-level windows on your system,
including the taskbar. The Transparency slider below the list allows
you to adjust the transparency level of any window in the list.
